Baby Turtle in Lederhosen

Going through old files, I came upon this illustration I did with Painter a little over a year ago. The assignment consisted in coming up with a character defined by these terms: baby, girl, turtle, shy, lederhosen. Mattart.com published it in its 2005 Comic-Con anthology (along with many other awesome turtle illustrations). It was fun!

Deep in Montezuma, Arizona

The pilot episode of the children's comics Arizona, titled "Deep in Montezuma" is FINISHED!!! It's a 5-page comics for readers ages 7 to 12. Arizona is about discovering nature, uniting the past and present, and connecting with family, friends and people from all sorts of cultures. The characters, grandpa Pops, his two grandkids, Juliet and Frederick, and their best friend, a Native boy named Joe, explore the enchanting landscapes and eclectic folklores of the American Southwest. In "Deep in Montezuma," Pops takes the kids to a mysterious well to see the most incredible moonrise, but he gets in big trouble.
